I used to always drive a pickup since we had a farm. This is the first car I've ever owned. I got rid of my pickup because it was clutch and my husband didn't want to learn.

that's an amusing bit of role reversal. I know a few guys who drive sticks primarily to make sure their wife/girlfriend will never drive their vehicle.

Yes, I know. I grew up with men, and he grew up with mostly women. I married the art major of the family. It's a bad sign when you go into the marriage with more power tools than your husband.;P

His real excuse is because he is a smoker. There is no possible way he can drive, run the clutch and smoke.

can it convert meters per second to furlongs per fortnight? da...arn![^] (it's an old joke. My first job here had a metric requirement, due to international standards, and current requirements -- at the unveiling, the first comment was "I don't understand those units, put them in English units." -- My response was, would you like that in furlongs per fortnight?)

What are you doing this weekend? :) My mother's leaving on Sunday, so I'll pick up a couple of cooking tips before that. I might have to take her out to visit some relatives tomorrow. Sunday I have to go to an office party or something of that sort. :|

                                      Cheers, Vıkram.

I'm going mountain biking today then making a Dal for dinner and probably doing some sunbathing in between. (I'm on semi holidays until september).

can it convert meters per second to furlongs per fortnight? da...arn![^] (it's an old joke. My first job here had a metric requirement, due to international standards, and current requirements -- at the unveiling, the first comment was "I don't understand those units, put them in English units." -- My response was, would you like that in furlongs per fortnight?)

and at ~60cm/hour it's really not that hard to actually give a rough conversion mentally. Anyone in the us who can't do metric will probably think you memorized the values in that grotesque unit. I really need to get the speed of light bumper sticker in those units one of these days.:-D

Yes, I know. I grew up with men, and he grew up with mostly women. I married the art major of the family. It's a bad sign when you go into the marriage with more power tools than your husband.;P
