Mac OS X on my compaq notebook
-
I tried it and it sort of works, but its lacking driver support so badly that my touchpad is acting weird, my video doesn't support quartz extreme and my keyboard doesn't function properly. But it does look very very good... I really wished apple released more drivers and a legal way of installing it on normal PC hardware. Time to trash the installation and put Windows back on it. :)

Yup I've also tried it on my old P4 desktop. It worked pretty good but as you said with some driver issues. I love my dual G4 PowerMac and I would love for Apple to release it in the while so I can install OS X on my Core2Duo. But I don't see that happening.
"When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to stay moral and lose their lives for the purpose of becoming the fodder of the immoral. Do not expect them to produce, when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask, `Who is destroying the world?' You are."

So just like any new version of windows then. Mac OS nowadays is getting fairly close to UNIX except it has lots of useful apps.

Don't hold your breath. MacOS is a loss leader for the hardware division, and keeping the supported hardware list as narrow as possible reduces development costs (for drivers).
-- You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer
