whenever I shutdown windows, I get this message: dwwin.exe - DLL Initialization Failed - The application failed to initialize because the window station is shutting down. the message pops up quickly and dissappears only during shutdown. In order to get rid of this crap, I spent more than four hours updating my windows. Somebody helps out, please.

This is just an idea, but it might help : FDisk Format, then install Linux. I can guarantee you that it will remove the error. :)

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 installed? If you want to keep acrobat reader, then upgrade it to version 8 to get rid of this problem. If you do not insist on upgrading, then try this[^] However, I would suggest you to use Foxit Reader[^]

DWWin is the Doctor Watson error reporting window - the one that says 'xyz program has encountered a critical problem and will be shut down'. However, when your Windows session is exiting, Windows prevents any windowed applications from starting, so you get this error message instead. It indicates that instead of exiting cleanly when you shut down or logged off, some program crashed. As the other poster said, the application I've seen do this most is Adobe Reader. I've switched over to Foxit Reader.

Sorry, I don't understand it. Just tell me what is the current version of Adobe Acrobat reader that you're using? If it is version 7, then uninstall it first, and then get the latest version by visiting Adobe website.

As I already suggested, first uninstall Adobe Acrobat reader, restart and then shut down your computer to check if the same error message appears during shut down. Apart from that, consider switching to Foxit reader or get the latest version of Adobe Acrobat reader. This must solve your problem.
