Well I got home today, 4 days in the hospital (He wanted me to stay an additional day but I just couldn't, I had to get home). I'm in more pain than I care to deal with, normally they take you off the "pain pump" a day or 2 before letting you go home but the nurses I had were idiots and I'm getting used to the pain without the pump while being home, when it should have happened at the hospital. The important thing is the surgery was a success, the Ileostomy was completely redone, now its just the 6 weeks to recuperate before I can go back to work. All in all my employer gathered up over 28 vacation days and I intend to use every one of them to heal up (don't want to rush back to work then realize I took it too fast, might as well take my time and get it done right the first time). On Tuesday the entire development team came to the hospital and visited me, so we had a room full of programmers trying to figure out how to hack the "pain pump" and get me more meds LOL (we wouldn't have really done it but it was funny as hell). It was a nice gesture that the entire team I work with (including my boss) took time out of their day to come and visit me in the hospital, and they all told me how much they missed me at work (I'm like the class clown). The funniest part of this whole ordeal was last night was when the wife snuck me off the surgical floor, the other side of the hospital, out the door and into the parking garage so I could watch the fireworks. So here I was, hooked to a pain pump (containing a new bottle of Dilaudid[^] in my hospital gown and hospital footies at 10:00PM watching the fireworks). Well the pain meds are kicking in so I am headed to bed, Ill give more updates as they come, thanks for all the prayers CPIans, meant a lot to me.

Good news on the whole then :-D. I'm glad the surgery was a success and I hope you have a smooth recovery. My bad cold and shoulder cramp pale into insignificance when compared to what you're going through which makes me feel a lot better, thanks :rose:
