The fun thing is that it's only the title, and one paragraph that's wrong. remoe the paragraph "It is already possible ... [] ... large hand grenade", and everything is technically right. Of the "can kill you" in the last sentence is also off.

Yeah, I read this a while ago. It's quite funny when a journalist who knows diddly squat about computers tries to write an article. That's not to say a virus cannot do some damage to hardware though. For example, overclocking components without the user knowing would result in long term damage. Perhaps there is an msdn article on how to blow up somebody's computer with a Windows API call?
