Yeah, same here. I don't blog regularly, more like just write a few times a year about some idea that's percolating in my head.

I use my CP member profile blog page as an offsite location to keep bookmarks of articles that I like, so if something happens on my machine, I don't lose reference to the articles. I also add a quick little comment so I remember what it is about, and since it is made public, I hope others can benefit from it, too :)

I write about whatever random rubbish enters my head - this week it's been mudlarks, inkpots and the Harry Potter phenomenon. The one thing I almost never write about is technical stuff.

I've suddenly become an active blogger on XNA and a variety of other subjects. See sig. Marc
Out of interest, I had downloaded XNA and C# express edition few weeks back. I was wondering whether I could re-write my 3D Model Editing Tool (I had written it few years back) using XNA and C#. Also, I am thinking about it's application other than games. I am planning to start getting hold of XNA in next few weeks. Your blog will be helpful.

If you have to ask you probably shouldn't have a blog. ;) I can't imagine that I have anything to say that would be of interest to more than 3 people world-wide so I never pursued it myself.

Apart from my CP's blog (linked in my signature) which I rarely use, I just recently started another attempt at blogging. It's still in beta but I think this is a perfect place to make it public :) http://www.luisalonsoramos.com/blog[^] I plan on writing about business and software development mainly, with an occasional tidbit of personal stuff... let's see how it goes :)

My interests lie in applications other than games as well, though I have a game that I wrote for Window 3.1 (something like 16 years ago) that I'd like to do in XNA. But my primary interest is using it as a design tool for modeling application design in 3D. Wierd, huh? I get the impression that there would probably be some commonality between what I have in mind as a concept piece and your tool. Let me know if you're interested in a loose collaboration / code sharing. Everything I'm planning on doing in XNA is going to end up as Code Project articles, BTW. Marc

I can't remember. It's at least ten years since I had a blog. :)

My blog (http://blog.colinmackay.net[^]) is about software development and community events (i.e. "in-person" events about software development) with the occasional rant about things (mostly banks or government agencies)
Upcoming events: * Glasgow: Mock Objects, SQL Server CLR Integration, Reporting Services, db4o, Dependency Injection with Spring ... "I wouldn't say boo to a goose. I'm not a coward, I just realise that it would be largely pointless." My website

No I'm pretty sure we are talking the same viking kittens from some site like Joel Vietch or something. To the tune of Led Zeppelin. Great stuff.

Brad, As pointed out, it is obvious you are an intelligent person with a lot to share with the world at large. I'm convinced you have a lot of good things to say. One point: using profanities, scatological language, and toilet humor will reduce your impact and label your blog as infantile. I know it seems "cool" to do it but it really isn't. Make your original impact on the Internet, don't follow the herds, and set a good example for your readers. Blogs belonging to true industry luminaries are above all this. You can join their ranks if you try. Best of luck, Moshe

I would love to see that. You must have enjoyed the whole process of writing a game on Win 3.1 :)

Nopes. We think alike on this topic. When I first saw XNA, I thought about it's application other than games.
Marc Clifton wrote:

May not be close, but the basic about using XNA in something other than games is what is similar. The 3D modelling tool I created was similar to 3D Studio Max - I had implemented Lights, camera, Models, materials, Views etc in MFC and OpenGL. It was an academic project.
Marc Clifton wrote:

I am interested. I am on vacation, and will be flying back to UK next week. We can work out something from next week. Till then let me know your vision about Design Tool for Modelling apps

Sounds fine. There are no articles here on XNA except yours, I believe.
