hi all, so i've got a problem. i am trying to create a connection mannually to an exchange server and i cannot select the type of server, because the screen is disabled (grayed). here is what i do : Start > Control Panel > Mail > E-mail Accounts... > Add a new e-mail account. and here, every 4 checkboxes and the next button are grayed. i wagged my whole windows registry to find which key was disabling this screen (and i am persuaded that this is done like this), but i can't figure out which !! so, here is where you can help me : does any of you guyz know how this screen is disabled (and then how to reactivate it), or how can i bypass it to create my mail server connection ? thanks in advance

How about any requirement of the logged on user having administrative privileges? (Or) Any system policy settings influencing this?

You don't say, but from your description I'm assuming Outlook 2003. First I'd try running a repair on Outlook. You can either go to Add/Remove Programs, select Office and click the Change button, then follow the wizard steps, or Help/Detect and Repair in Outlook itself. If that doesn't help, it might indicate a corrupted profile. In Control Panel, Mail, select Show Profiles. Click Add to create a new profile, and in the 'Always use this profile' option, select the new profile.

Doesn't Outlook have that "Reconfigure Mail Support..." option somewhere, where you can select Either Internet type or Corporate (Exchange) type mail support :~ Or maybe you need to add the Exchange Server service to your Outlook profile :~ :~
