Hi from a long lost CPian! It looks like CP has really been thriving while I've been off doing stuff mothers do (it would all sound too boring to write down, yet it's surprisingly exhausting!) With our new arrival (Emma) I decided I should really start blogging again for our family scattered around the globe, yet when I went looking for my old blog at WDevs I found it has vanished. Can anyone tell me what happened (unless there was a sensitive bust up, in which case please tell me to mind my own business and stop causing trouble :-O ) Anyway, hi to anyone who can remember me :)

Welcome back! :) Congrats on the new little one - I trust you're having a great (albeit tiring) time as a mother! :rose: About WDevs: see here[^].

Hi Megan welcome back, congrats on your motherhood :-) As has been said, WDevs ceased to be, my old blog was on WDevs so I was pretty p****d, anyhoo, I managed to reconstruct most of my old blog on my new blog using Google cache - it was a complete pain in the a**s

I must be missing something...  Your domain provider and your hosting provider can (and should?) be two different things, so you can purchase a domain for 1 year from 1&1 , but then buy 2 years of hosting from Site 5.    Just because the domain expired does not necessarily mean that the site's data automatically went with it.  If they were separate - there could be a direct IP address to still get to the site.    I do not know if anyone is pursuing that angle, though...    Peace!

Welcome back. I hope Brisbane is treating you well. I've been quite envious of some of the scenes you've been posting on Flickr. You have a lot of wonderful places to visit on your doorstep.

Of course! Welcome back! My son's violin teacher's name was Emma. Unfortunately, she moved to Boston, too far for lessons. She was a great violin teacher--Ian learned more from her in a year and a half than in 4 years from the school's violin teacher. Marc

Welcome back Megan, and congratulations! :rose: While much has happened at CP and in the world while you were otherwise occupied, here's a synopsis of the most significant events:

                      • Having relocated to within inches of CP, I'm now able to tap the exalted Maunder's amazing store of knowledge with questions like "Can you recommend a better source code editor than MS Word? I hate how it auto-corrects my curly braces."
                      • I haven't had a ham sandwich in weeks.
                      • My 7-part series of articles titled "How to determine the version of VBRUNxxx.dll installed on the user's system" is almost ready for publication.  Look for it at this and other fine websites!

                      Cheers, /ravi
