Whatever happened to "The Grand Negus"?

Every so often he goes off on one of his tidying up sprees and disappears for a while. He will resurface some day (but probably not as Grand Negus).

The Grand Negus[^] I was chatting to someone today who was on about a natural english based language and thought of him hehe. I went and looked and most of his posts are deleted and the account abandoned ... did he finally get tired of the chilly reception his idea got?
I personally mailed him to know what he's upto and was amazed to know he's into a new prototype that will allow us to create applications for .net. A completely CLR based plain english compiler. He said he'd be busy for another two more months.

Looking for ways to increase empire profits i would assume.

No tox, he's staying in touch with me. Few weeks before he wrote in a reply that he had fixed a crucial bug in his "parsing" code and now the compiler works twice as fast as it was before and he personally doesn't like getting along with .net , but "business demands".. he's a dynamic guy.

If that is true I believe he could sell that provided it could generate GUIs that conform to the windows standard.

Why was everyone so mean to him? Atleast he tried to accomplish something. I do agree that trying to make a spoken language into a programming language is a bad thing. English is not designed to express the kind of thing you want to express when programming. But still, its his idea, so why the bashing? was he rude or arrogant or something like that? more likely seeking desciples to obey the self-acclaimed great and powerful programmer and genius: himself. He really doesn't seem too keen on making profits, though wouldn't mind making some of his investment back, but he just wants everyone to recognize that he is smarter than everyone in the world, and we should all bow down and obey his will and kiss his feet and accept what ever he says as God's Gospel Truth. I wouldn't have half the problem I have with him, if we weren't so doggone stuck up on himself. But most of all, even science gave up on trying to use English for naming, because English is a constantly changing environment. What means one thing to one person will not necessarily mean the same to another. Science chose Latin because it was dead, it has fixed meanings. Although we communicate fine here "most of the time" every now and then you will find a message asking "what is that" or... "that means something else here, and I don't think you realize that." As I understand it you can say something like "I am going to step outside and enjoy a fag for 5 minutes." In the UK they'll think you are stepping out for a smoke. In Texas, you are likely to get beat up and fired, assuming you live through the beating. Although it is rare, it is common enough to generate bugs. He doesn't come from the same location in the USA, so his meaning for English words are not all identical to mine. He doesn't speak true English either, American English has diverged heavily. But regional dialects are more than just accents, regional meanings of words are enough to generate severe bugs in your code. Now you have to learn a new English language just to write bug-free code. No, I am glad that although high level languages are based on English words, they don't attempt to use them throughout. There is enough mental separation from speaking to programming to differentiate the two properly. Plus I am not sure it is a great idea to let everyone try to program. One of his goals is that with an English compiler, everyone could just write their own code. Although I agree it is possible, I disagree it is a good idea. Again, that is just asking for bugs. Not anything against normal folk, but us eccentric programmers have had to deal with logic errors/problems for ages. There would be more bugs in computers than the desert after a flash soaking rain. And that is saying something (at least to a local). :-D Anyhow, let sleeping dogs lie. He'll be back, of that I am sure. lets just enjoy the peace until then.

He was very agressive with his idea, very asertive that this is what everyone should use because it is better than everything else and everyone else is stupid for not seeing that.
