I'm sorry that I had to leave earlier yesterday due to an emergency, and could't continue the discussion about Windows vs. Linux programming. But from the discussion I gathered that Linux programming it's not as bad as Nish is thinking. btw about Brian Delahunty, he finished his exams and got results this week. He has eye infection now and will be back soon. Venet. -------- Black holes are where God divided by zero.(Steven Wright)

Venet wrote: Linux programming it's not as bad as Nish is thinking. Geez, I am not saying it's bad okay? I am only saying that Win32 developers who have got spoiled by Visual Studio will have a very tough time working with vi or emacs and gcc. Nish p.s. Of course I don't see much point in developing for Linux. But that's a different issue altogether ;-)

Nish, There are some very good IDE's for Linux. The KDE one is pretty good and FREE :-) I don't see much point in developing for Linux You do if you want to sell to the German Government, Chinese Gov, Korean Gov.... there is a growing market. Increasingly it will become a requirement. Cheers, Davy Davy http://www.LateDecember.com

Very best to Brian, I still have nightmares about doing an exam without any revision (always as A levels). In fact very best to anyone doing A's or GCSE's and any exam come to that. Alice thought that running very fast for a long time would get you to somewhere else. " A very slow kind of country!" said the queen. "Now, here , you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place".

And slow... And buggy... And little more than windows over a shell... Oooo, it has a browser and a notepad... Talk about reinventing the 80s... Tim Smith I know what you're thinking punk, you're thinking did he spell check this document? Well, to tell you the truth I kinda forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this here's CodeProject, the most powerful forums in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question, Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?
