    With the whole world plugged into the 'Web' the internet. And most using TCP/IP and UDP. What other 'global' means of communication for systems are being used? Let me say like this. What other communications are being used beside the 'net'? Like some sort of telnet or irc.

    i'm not quite sure what the protocol is called, but SMS (ShortMessage-Somethingrather, aka TXT Message) is a means of communicating via a mobile phone. Roswell

      But Telnet and IRC, they based on web. Without internet connection how can you connect to IRC or Telnet? I think WEB is the only one where "whole world" plugged into. SMS, Pager, Cell phone these are limited - I mean you can not ping whole world using your cell phone.
