Find a better ISP that doesn't delete your mail, or one that gives you POP3 access so you can download and keep the important ones somewhere safe?

Those will both suffer the same problem - if he relies on webmail to keep his important mails safe, if something goes wrong at their end, his mail will be gone, with no comeback. The only way to ensure important mails are kept safe is to store them somewhere safe - i.e. download them to your own computer, and keep backups.

tue, but thos don't delete mails after 30 days... but i totally agree about "important emails", he should use a real POP3 mail server with a client like Outlook to archive his mails

It is by design that all webmail sites follow this right? The duration might be different like Yahoo Mail has 2 months (60 days). The reason being that they want to reclaim the locked up server resources with users who are not interested or not seriously concerned using the webmail service.

No. GMail doesn't do this, AFAIK.

Don't use Hotmail they are notoriously bad at blocking legitimate emails from getting to you, google it and you'll find oodles of info. Use Gmail or something else instead.

I had signed up for that, and it was a pain in the butt to cancel.  They'll send you an email before its time to renew, just so you know that you're going to get charged again, but there is no way to discontinue your service online.  They have a maze of different pages/links you have to follow, all just to finally end up at a page that says, call this phone number to cancel... Very frustrating... /rant.
