Simple - if you sign up for a site, don't use the same password as in other sites. That's security 101.

You suggest me keeping 101+ passwords... This is quite impossible since I am a member of many websites. However, the serious websites such as the online bank do have a special username and password.

the confused are confused beyond confusion

Yes, I keep many dozens and keep them all within a word document which is stored in an encrypted partition using TrueCrypt. This way I just need to remember 1 password, although to be honest I know most of them now anyway.

Yup. There are password vaults that you can use to store the details. The key point here though, is that by using the same password/username combination you leave yourself wide open to having your details stolen and accounts accessed. What you are doing is almost as bad as having your password set to password or abc123. They are easily guessed, and leave you wide open to online identity fraud.

I think you will find that you are in violation of the terms and conditions of most financial websites if you disclose your login details to any third party - this would include any other website. So if you reuse these logins you run the risk of fraudulent activity AND being held liable for it.
