Functions of Windows XP Professional

Hey everyone, i just got this college assignment and i need a little bit of help. I have named and described a lot of XP Features but now i need to name and describe functions. I can't see the difference between XP functions and features. Could someone help me please? Thanks very much Benjamin Dodd

Well, for features i have mentioned how files and folders can be viewed as thumbnails, icons etc. Another feature i have mentioned is the shortcuts, that when u click on a file, in the left hand column, XP have included links like 'cut' 'publish to web' etc. There are features. But what are the functions, is that what XP can perform, like system restore? Thanks

Microsoft Windows like so many other products blurs the distinction between feature and function. But generally speaking, a feature is a "selling point" and a function is "what it does in a non-specific way", which in itself could be a feature. Regarding System Restore, this is no doubt a function of the operating system, however, in the hands of marketing people, it becomes a feature as the ability to restore the computer to another time becomes a selling point.
