First you need to compare the reputation of the host, thier uptime etc. Then check out the prices.

I've been using Namecheap for about 10 years. The prices are good and the service is excellent. You might be able to find slightly better prices but be careful and make sure the registrar comes recommended. WARNING!!! Do not get a domain name from your web host - even if they give it to you free. If you ever have any problems with the host, they can hold your domain name hostage. Find yourself a good registrar, and pay the fee (a little under $10).

thank you, really good point. i was thinking about taking it all in one package. now i will reconsider that.

$10 per what ?? I saw many sites with around the same price($10) , it is right to be cheap like this ??

Good point: I've always used Network Solutions[^] as they also offer a private registration service so that your address and other details are not shown by whois.

Been using http://www.1and1.com[^] for some time now. They are only $6.95 (went up $1 this year) per domain for registrations. Have not used them for hosting, so not sure about that.
