Hi everyone Can you help me I want to buy a system and my choise is: (if you think some hardwares needs to replace please tell me,thanks) CPU:Intel Core2Duo 6550(2.33) MainBoard:Giga P35-DS3R Memory:3GB KingMax( Bus=800) Hard: 320GB Hitachi SATA2 VGA: 8600GTS ASUS (I dont know Silent pipes are good or no) DVD writer: PLEXTOR PX-800A CD writer:Asus 52x32x52 (DO I need to cd drive?) Modem:Giga Monitor:LCD SAMSUNG 17" 720N (LCD or CRT which is better?) Power supply: Green 580B-EPS ------------ Printer: laserjet color HP 3600 COLOR Scanner: HP 4850 Thanks

Your DVD writer can burn CDs as well. If you want a second optical drive I'd recommend either a second DVD drive, or 2 dvd burners.

Is 'green' the brand? If so, I've never heard of them before, and cheap PSUs are the biggest cause of systems dieing soon after purchase. This is one place you don't want to skimp.

What are you intending to use the computer for? If it's work and you're not doing 3d graphics a significantly cheaper card will work as well. For any serious gaming (graphics significantly better than wow) an 8600 is going to be underpowered. The gaming card you want is an 8800GT-512. It's faster than the older 8800GTS series and except at 2560x1600 faster than the GTX/Ultra models as well despite being less expensive than both of them. Except at startup the 8800GT has a reasonably quiet fan. If you want fanless (what the 'silent pipes' is probably referring to) existing 7800 series aftermarket coolers are physically compatible with the 8800GT.

i don't think ASUS's VGA card and CD writer are good choice. ASUS's main product is mainboard, so his VGA is not so good. monitor: i like samsung 206BW or 226BW. may i get an answer, how much is the system ?

LCD sometimes isnt the best choice, profesionall graphics/artists still use very good CRT monitors... The system looks ok, but why 3GB of ram(and if you have money invest into faster ram) Second thing you could use RAID on 2 HDD

I would drop Windows Vista. You didn't say you were using thatm but you did say 3 gigs of ram. Just invest into better ram, get 2 gigs, and use XP. get a 22" monitor too, you'll love it :)

Thank you I dont decide to buy CD drive but I was not sure does DVD drive can read CDs or no but now Im sure it cans. GREEN is Power supply of course I heared that ACbel is good power. For Graphic I want to work with 3dMAx on the xp and Vista and also I dont want that it uses of main memory of system ,I think 8800GT needs to a motherboard with PCIexpress 2.0 and I think I must wait for X38 chipset fot these motherboards,right?.

yeah.. but CRT makes my eyes feel pain.. I don't like it..

No, you don't. PCIE1.0 and 2.0 are symetrically reverse compatable. 2.0 cards will work in 1.0 slots, and vice versa. No current card requires the bandwidth level provided by PCI2.0. The 8800GTX/Ultra both need 1.0 12x bandwidth, and the 8800GT is very slightly slower (at most few percent) at normal resolutions. PCIE2.0 is twice as fast as the 1.0 standard.
