Is it just me or have CP become very slow the last days? Just getting the homepage takes 10-15 seconds, it used to show at once.

I've been having problems with the Lounge and the forums today... and with posting on articals too. Other then that it seems to be find. It's probably a problem with my conenction here thats making it slow for me.

There's some kind of network weirdness doing on. Ping times to the servers range between normal and 3000ms, I'm checking now. David http://www.dundas.com

One advantage of having a slow connection is that you don't notice when it gets that little bit slower! Have you, the admins, managed to track down that problem that causes the page to produce a "Page Not Found" error after replying to a message? I get it more and more these days, but there doesn't seem to be any regularity to it that I can offer to help you find the cause. I guess I'll just keep sticking pins in my Sir Christopher Bland Voodoo Doll... :) ____________________ David Wulff Neil says: dave i am a homosexual and i am in love with your father Dave says: That's okay son, eighteen years ago I was in love with your mother.

Over the last few months we've been having serious problems with people site scraping and overloading the servers. We've tried IP filtering, connection throttling, IP blocking, nastygrams to the offenders, and then in defeat doubled the number of servers we have and upgraded our connection to 10 megs. Unfortunately the problem seems to be getting worse. In the next week or so we are going to be implementing some measures that we hope will make it less attractive to site scrapers while adding some benefits to those legitimately signed in. I *hope* this will settle things down a little. cheers, Chris Maunder Rub your belly and pat your head simultaneously. Sometimes that helps me make sense of things - Jon Sagara
