There are tools that will allow you to run a .NET application without needing the Framework installed but they are expensive. In general, if someone wants to run your .NET application they will need a compatible version of the .NET Framework installed.

      Scott.

Search for 'Xenocode' or 'SoftInstall'. BTW, the executables generated by these programs are about 10MB which is half size of .Net Framework 2.0 so it will be easier to install .Net Framework once rather then send extra 10MB with every program you distribute.

I am flabbergasted every time I read this, and I have to say that I read a post like this somewhere on the Internet at least 4-5 times a week. If you are going to go through the work of planning an app (assuming that you did SOME kind of structured development cycle here) and NOW you start to ask yourself why your app does not run on systems that do not have the the .NET framework installed? UGH! What this really means is that the HUGE MS Marketing machine missed you! How that heck can that be? MS advertises everywhere. They spread their information all over the place. The framework has been out for how many years now and people are STILL asking about running apps on systems that don't have it installed? And by the way, WHY isn't it installed on every machine by now? I thought MS was going to make sure this was out there via MS Updates. I figured that everyone had it installed by now anyway :)
