Replacing the TV with ...
-
... an iMac[^]. Our old TV is finally giving up on us, and I've been longing to do get my hands on a mac and port some of my apps over. So I've been wondering if I could replace our TV with an iMac. Has anybody got any experience doing this, or have any advice* on this? I'm in the UK, so I'll need the iMac, and a USB freeview / digital TV receiver - have you got any recommendations on the receiver for me? * Re. advice: please don't turn this into a Apple vs. Microsoft thread.

Never tried one myself, but Elgato seem to be the main people when it comes to Macs and TV, and they generally get a lot of good press.
That looks like exactly the sort of thing I'll need. Thanks for the info. All I need to do now is find the best part of one and a half grand, and I'll be all set. Oh, and I need to convince the missus that we do actually need another computer in the lounge. Details details.

there is something amusing about replacing a TV with an iMac. The quality of the content, perhaps? ;P Marc
