Is there a new competition/contest on CodeProject to see who can write the shortest or worst "article" (to use the word loosely)?

OK - where's this one then? Links please... Let us bask in the ineptitude and crassness ready to unleash our spleen. You haven't lived until you've unleashed your spleen, unless you've ungirdled your bowels that is.

Well, for starters, have a look at the list of the "Last 10 updates" on the MFC/C++ page. At least 4 out of the current 10 are crap! It would be nice if CP would give the current rating for articles on the updates list.

I love the factorial with one for loop. That has to be one of the most ridiculous articles I've ever seen. It's so bad that it has a certain elegance to it - in the same way that a black widow does.

We're up to 5 out of 10 crappy articles.... You know, I wonder if there has ever been a time on CP where all 10 "Last updated" articles has had a rating of 1? If so, how often has this happened and which forums has it happened most?

It happens occassionally. Normally what happens is some numpty from NIIT writes 5 or 6 crappy articles about nothing in particular. For some reason they seem to think it makes them special - all I can imagine is that they think it's either going to get them girls or a job. Both propositions seem highly unlikely.

Then there's the old fill in the article template with a programming question or "do my homework for me" and post it as an article. Since CP has a "Most Popular" list, it would be kinda funny to have a "Least Popular" list too. Like a worst article of all time list.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep my article or ask for it to be deleted. The code doesn't work any more on XP (it doesn't account for the new 'dynamic time zone' stuff added this last year), it never worked on Vista, and was an extremely dirty hack to begin with. The fact that it exists at all is a demonstration of a missing API, that's all. The system has a database of timezones, why isn't there any way to query it?

Keep it. The fact that it's there might be enough to tip somebody over into updating it onto XP/Vista. One of my articles arose from taking something that Marc had written and updating it to .NET 2. That doesn't downplay Marcs article in anyway, it just prompted me to go in another direction with it.
