Any encouraging experiences of a free tool that will rip an entire website but not get too wild to fill up an entire hard-disk :) Cheers

Don't rip the MSDN then. You'll waste half a gig just downloading the damn menus.

 I had tried something ages ago that crawled all the hyperlinks and didn't ever want to do it again after. It went on to a few other sites and got well videos, massive gifs, pdfs, you name it. Left it overnight and the disk never worked again.. Hence the lack of trust but people must be doing heavily for their trips, offline work etc.. I was just going to point it to blogs and forums sections, then take it from there..

Appreciated.. Checked out the decade-olders and sure, still around. Like Wget and plenty of dodgy advertising from file.download.anything.others Right now testing HTTrack and although it does seem to be going 'wild' (500MB and still not done, fetching a few other sites on its way). Oh well.. at least it is stacked with options. Cheers (Thanks again Ed, this is second time we cross paths (AI project next, you have a free beer down South Ken, we'll tell em Msje Chris Maunder sent us :) :)

Will take you up on that, even though I'm not supposed to. Christ that's put it in perspective how frequently I chop and change between London and home (drove up there on Wednesday to take stuff up) and am currently back home for a couple of shoots and will be returning on Sunday. What a life...
