      Are you talking about the superfluous wavy lines? A shaky hand, a bit of blurring and alpha blending oughta do the trick. If you want to do it in a vector system, make sure it supports alpha-blended gradient fills and use those. Or, buck the trend and draw interesting stuff. :rolleyes:

          I bet that would be fairly easy to do in Inkscape, just a few wavy lines copied and multiplied, different colours from the same palette, a few blurred underneath a few sharper ones and some with different transparency. I think the silverlight "logo" looks much better than that one though. The one you linked to is obviously trying to copy that style but not being subtle enough about it making it look too busy. If you use that style for something though keep in mind it will look very dated in a few years since everything currently is using that style.
