ow I need you people to tell me what do you think is the best choice from this point.
The answer of that depends on what area of programming you want to do, what is better suited for your skills and what your employer (or perspective employer) wants. I have been working for a medical imaging research team for 11 years now and in that I have written (and maintain) over 500K lines of MFC/C++ code mostly by myself. We need C++ because in a lot of cases the research we do pushes hardware/OS/memory to a point where only under the right conditions the application is just fast enough to be practical. With .NET or Java these applications would be too slow or not efficiently handle the amount of data we need to move. My latest application loads over 1GB (typically 1 to 2GB) of 3D image data to memory and gets the first frame to a display (dual 2K X 2.5K grayscale monitors with a slow pcix a graphics card) in less than 10 seconds in a 32 bit os. However our requirements are not the norm. A good deal of the business applications are better suited to use either .NET or Java versus C++.

I think you should wait for one person to post a serious reply, and then delete your post. That'll show 'im.
But who is the king of all of these folks?
Mine was serious. It's what keeps me going on a morning.
