I despise their business name. Really, I hate it. "Go daddy"? What kind of business name is that? Anyway, names aside, I hear they offer great services. I currently have Windows hosting with a cheap company and it's... well... "not satisfactory". :P Have you used GoDaddy's Virtual Servers[^]? Is it worth it? I don't have money (nor I really need them) for a real dedicated server, so virtual dedicated servers look promising. I know they don't offer the same processing power but I don't really need much. I'd like to host my company website there, probably a bug/issue tracker, some databases, some client projects (but only dev versions). Or perhaps you can recommend some other virtual server services from other providers?

Geez, their premium plan is only $5/mo shy of what I pay for a dedicated server with better specs! Marc

Having used GoDaddy before I'll say they are 'ok'. The hosting was fine, although a little sluggish, and their administration interface is quite painful (slow and complicated). Support took forever to respond and normally replied in a negative. You also have to carefully navigate your way through multi-layer marketing at every stage. Depending if you want a Windows or Linux based VPS you may find a better fit at Slicehost or VPSlink, both of who seem to have a very good rep at the moment and are cheaper than GoDaddy. I can personally vouch for Slicehost being very responsive.

And would recommend them. While there online tools may be frustrating there phone support is great.

Thier service is adequit. Thier price is exceptional. There dns tool fair (mx,a, cname records). Before buying service make sure you can grock thier dns tool. I can definity warn you off network solutions, if you try to see if a domain is available on thier site they will freeze it for 15 days so you can't register that domain with another vendor. I have one domain with network solutions and 2 with godaddy and I prefer godaddy. 2 cents
