vbd Extension

My company is looking at "Buying" a accounts payable software called Basware. I'm looking at screenshots and expect to see aspx but instead see VBD in the url. Surely that doesn't mean "Visual Basic Document". For those who don't know that was a MS stab at doing code behind in VB5&6. Essentially what it does is creates a screen wide activex control. Microsoft doesn't even support this stuff anymore. I would be shocked that this very expensive software is created from obsolete technology. Two Questions: 1) Am I correct that vbd means is the dreaded visual basic document? 2) Has anyone else seen your used Basware and can confirm that this is indeed built on activex?

BASware? Bas reminds me of the BAS file extension which reminds me of BASIC. My advice: If it's something obscure, don't buy it. You'll save yourself the trouble later.

Well I would be shocked if that wasn't the case. Most of teh financial software were written in Visual Basic once upon a time. As they worked there was no need to replace them.

I think many companies do not update screenshots unless the new software looks very different. Only a trained eye would look at the extension. I would contact them and have them put in WRITING what the current software is written in.

Tell me about it. We've got this nice wide screen flat panel that sits on one end of our receptionist's desk that runs a slide show of our products. Most of the pictures includes the rack cabinet that contains our controller PC and the touch-screen used for the UI. On the face of the touch screen, they use a screen capture from a DOS app that I did over ten years ago. The funny thing is, the DOS app includes a company logo in the lower right corner. The problem is, that company sold us to K**** over four years ago .

Basware
A quick Google search got the website http://www3.basware.com/Pages/default.aspx[^] The website seems to be in a state-of-the-art new technology. However, the homepage itself has five toolbar like buttons which are just images.
