Oh Great.........I'm a newbie at investing, but that company's IPOs will be on my "quickly disregard" list. (Just kidding, it's basically the "screw MACs Arses week" for me, only that the week lasts from 1st Jan to 31st Dec.

You should warn them of this at the first interview - or better yet in the job specs you publish. ;P

That's basically ar.se land. I'll come to it shortly. My life has been Win32/MFC forever. Right from college days, to job, and till present day. And even though I've grumblingly drudged through the DLL Hell, the COM/DCOM hell forever (just like many of you have) deep inside I've felt good about it (just like most of you have), since honestly speaking (for those with the knowledge, drag-and-drop fcukrammers excluded), it's one of the superior forms of programming where one needs to have IQ and the special acumen. Or else it ain't happenin that easily dudes, coz this ain't the "make-it-easy-for-the-programmer" philosophy. But recently I was seeking a change, to learn something new. So I approached few morons, and they listened to my reasoning for a while. Thing is, even though deep inside I wanted J2EE (wait, don't shoot me just yet, hold on) I didn't mention it, because I wanted to see what they'd put me in. Call me an idiot for not doing that, but I was just trying hard not to fight the element of surprise. I knew it wouldn't be VB or CSharp, as those projects here are loaded with people (not so surprisingly), so I was hoping for a J2EE thing to come my way for sure. So yesterday I got this communication, that they've allocated me to departmentX for clientY from the 24th of this month. Yippee!!!! I was all overjoyed and all, only till the time I visited the department. The first blow: It was all MACs all around, about 100 or more of them, on an endlessly huge floor. I was like..........WTF? Where did this come from? The second blow: Heyya, welcome to MACLand! In my mind: Ya right a**hole, you mean a*seland. Heard you're gonna be here from the end of this month! Oh f**k, Oh f**king f**k.......no way, no way Great! You're gonna love it. We're MAC all the way! You'll not see a trace of Windows here.....ever.....no viruses, no this.......no that......no no no no If this place was empty, by now I'd cut you in pieces like in American Psycho Want me to show you around? In reality: Actually, I have this very important appointment I just remembered. I'm sorry, but I'll come around for sure! Ok, see you soon! Then I madrushed to the allocation folks and decided to walk in with NO printed in caps on my forehead, but they had left for the day...... Damn, Monday I'll have to get a ticket out of ar.seland.........I mean, a day without that lovely, divine-looking "Illegal Operation" screen? Heck, that's like saying screw a babe without a vagina...........darn. I'll stick

I actually quite like XCode , Cocoa and, Objective C when I do have the rare occasion to build software using it, especially when compared to the typical J2EE stack. It's a different approach and I personally like to try different things and not get nailed down to a single vendor.

Not exactly... OS X is based on a hybrid of the CMU Mach Kernel and BSD Unix, not on Linux.
