I've just came back from another Iron Maiden show. Only one word: Amazing. :-D Are there metallers here in CP? I think metal and programming are a very good combination. I can't code anything without some heavy music ;P

YEAH !!!! I was at the barrier ( I won first to the barrier ) for one show in Melbourne, and saw them twice in Sydney as well. Incredible show. I just wish they had done Flight of Icarus and 22 Acacia Avenue. I'm going to Rocklahoma this year ( although the line up isn't that great, I renewed months ago ) and seeing Ozzy next weekend. I wish I could see Whitesnake, but I'll be on a family holiday at the time.

that's great. Yeh i am big metal freak....i use to be a lead guitarist at some point of my life. Programming, heavy metal, and coffee - good combo.. But its a fact that if you are high(may be on coc/weed/cannabis stuff) then you enjoy heavy metal more. :)

I've been working on my lead guitar of late, trying to nail the solo to 'Am I Evil', amongst others.

I'm not sure when Download is, but I know Whitesnake/Def Leppard have a tour on. There's a magazine called 'Classic Rock', if you can find it, they are in the UK, and list all the tours at the back. Metal Hammer is the other one, for the heavier bands, but Classic Rock seems to have more concert listings, I think. But, if you're in Europe anyhow, I'd jump the water and go to Sweden Rock or Wacken.

ROTFL - they sold out a show in Melbourne in 30 minutes. 30,000 people at $150 a ticket. In fact, they sold out two nights, and have basically been selling out shows around that size all over the world. The average fan spends at least that again on merchandise, I spent $300. I also went to three shows. They get to the shows on their own plane, the singer is the pilot. You tell me if you think they will ever need social security.

[Green with envy icon] ;) I listen to Metallica(Justice for all, Ride the lightening etc...) in the car on the way to work frequently. Sometimes some Manowar. A bit of Maiden and Bruce's first solo album - was lucky enough to see him live when it first came out (really small venue only around 200 people present - the venue rocked !!!) And of course Led Zep, Pink Floyd, but that's a given... Listening to Dark side of the moon this very moment.

Yes, but weed and coding don't normally work for me. It's something like, "WTF was I doing?" half-way through a line of code.

Do you mean rythmn guitar as opposed to bass? Any instrument can be lead.
