We and many companies develop our applications with a compiler like Visual C++/C#/Basic. But how the heck did they made MS-DOS!? Rickard Andersson@Suza Computing C# and C++ programmer from SWEDEN! UIN: 50302279 E-Mail: nikado@pc.nu Speciality: I love C#, ASP.NET and C++!

Assembler. hex editor. C compilers for some of the newer utilities. I've got a feeling that the actual source for MS-DOS probably has major portions missing from it, considering the history behind it. At one time however, it was possible for you to download the source for DR-DOS (this was after it was purchased by Caldera), though i don't know whether this is still so.

Aaah... It's time to relax. You know what that means: a glass of beer, your favorite ergo chair... And of course, The Code Project loaded on your Personal Computer System. So go on, and indulge yourself, put your feet up. Lean back and just enjoy the articles. After all, CP sooths even the savage :bob:

That information is only supplied on a need to know basis. :-) But if you spell SABRE as SABER you will get closer. I think the first actual OSes were on the 360's, but that's only my opinion. Regardz Colin J Davies
