Me? I feel that this is proof that the terrorists have succeeded. Frankly, psychopath G.W. Bush and his funny farm candidate director of the FBI scare the hell out of me. This is actually a kind of final straw for me. I am leaving the country. (As soon as is possible, I suppose. Need to save up some more cash than I've got right now, hopefully line up a job somewhere, too.) As a side question: What country has the most sane IP/patent/hacking laws? Please post below, would be greatly appreciated.

I consider the source somewhat suspect.

Combined with this, I'm pretty much in a state of dispair. How the HELL can we stop this? Our government is turning into a fucking police state!!! Geez, you thought Carnivore/Echelon was bad enough... FUCK! Calm down Domenic, calm down, calm down... America's going to hell, and once it declares the New World Order, the rest of the world is too. What about our Bill of Rights? Due process? Gone. Unreasonable search and seizure? Gone. Independent thought? Darn close. Comparison of 1984 with current state of affairs. Before you say it, I am NOT overreacting! Nobody even knows about this stuff either, and those who do are so caught up with "patriotic" fervor. So, anyone wanna recommend a good country to move to once I get old enough? I'm thinking Switzerland right now perhaps... Anyone played Deus Ex? Start drawing the parallels here... Lesse, terrorist attack on major new york landmark... Echelon... come now, after citizen spies martial law and the detention of however many thousand Americans is not far behind. UNATCO anyone? OK, perhaps that last part is a little bit too far, but damn, things are changing and with our country turning into what it is these "shadow government" and "New World Order" theories are not as remote sounding as they were one year ago today. I tell ya, the moment mind uploading and nanotechnology becomes available I'm turning myself into a computer and speeding away from this planet at near lightspeed. I'll just curle up in a ball now and hope if I close my eyes long enough the world will go away. Thanks for listening to my rant.

I forsee some really horrible murders when the local nut finds out that the postman finked him out to the feds. The BATF tried this kind of tactic, resulting in Waco, Ruby Ridge, and a number of other fiascos.

I hope the article is wrong. Reading the little blurb at the bottom about the author does make me question the facts given in the article. He moved from the US to seek political asylum? Sounds like a political move to me. And the fact that Sweden's political parties, clergy, and human rights groups support him means nothing because they can be easily manipulated with inaccurate facts. Ritt Goldstein is an investigative journalist and a former leader in the movement for US law enforcement accountability. He has lived in Sweden since 1997, seeking political asylum there, saying he was the victim of life-threatening assaults in retaliation for his accountability efforts. His application has been supported by the European Parliament, five of Sweden's seven big political parties, clergy, and Amnesty and other rights groups.

They did this in Eastern Germany. The STASI had so much info that they did not have the capacity to monitor it all anymore. So USA.. The new Easten Germany (Hitler will be pleased to know that his 3th reich will finally be there :) )

hang on a second, you're leaving the country and 'as a side question' you want to know who's got the 'most sane' hacking laws...... sounds a bit suspicious to me. :-D:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Heh, how terribly ironic that my intent is to move to Germany to escape the third reich.. :)
