What is your idea of happiness? I feel good when i get through a typical technical or programming problem. But i am not sure of is it the happiness I am looking for. Does the happiness come in your way only when you achieve/acquire something. :^) I watched the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness". When Will Smith gets selected as stock broker there is a dialog in movie saying "This part of my life... this part right here? This is called "happiness."". Whats your idea on it.

I don't believe you are feeling happiness. You are, I believe confusing happiness with achievement. Although a sense of achievement can bring happiness. Happiness is a long summers day with my wife in the countryside, picnic, fine wine, lazing in the sun, then a short drive to a small seaside town to spend the evening in a moderate hotel, a nice meal then an early yet long night. Now that is happiness. :-D

You just gave me an awesome idea for a surprise for my girlfriend in the summer. In short, last year for me to take this job we both had to up sticks, and she misses her family a lot (as do I, but it seems to effect her more). She's from Suffolk, and I'm sure she'd love nothing more than something like you've just described in a place near to where her family lives, Aldeburgh.[^] I'm gonna be so popular for that!

OK then. As long as you don't mind me taking your wife for all this, then I'm game to look for some happiness. ;)

Now see that the problem with living in Singapore - a short drive to a seaside town puts you in Malayasia and you had better have your passport with you:((. Mind you the last time I was cold I had to fly for 4 hours to get there. Hey, fine wine, good company, what a way to spend an afternoon, wonderful.

You've obviously never been in the flow.

Happiness is transient and changing, like a unicorn on LSD. Worth chasing however :)
