pursuit of happiness

I don't believe you are feeling happiness. You are, I believe confusing happiness with achievement. Although a sense of achievement can bring happiness. Happiness is a long summers day with my wife in the countryside, picnic, fine wine, lazing in the sun, then a short drive to a small seaside town to spend the evening in a moderate hotel, a nice meal then an early yet long night. Now that is happiness. :-D

What is your idea of happiness? I feel good when i get through a typical technical or programming problem.But i am not sure of is it the happiness I am looking for. Does the happiness come in your way only when you achieve/acquire something. :^) I watched the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness". When Will Smith gets selected as stock broker there is a dialog in movie saying "This part of my life... this part right here? This is called "happiness."". Whats your idea on it.

God, what an awful movie. Take a triumphant, rags to riches success story that should inspire millions and instead present it as one long series of dismal and depressing scenes (in equally dismal cinematography). I sometimes wish the entire morose, shoe gazing generation would just pull off to the side of the road and fling themselves off a cliff since that's what they so desperately want to do anyway. At least we wouldn't have to endure their incessant whining anymore.

I kinda liked the movie. It wasn't all sunshine and ponies but it wasn't all clouds and goats either. Stop whining Duncan ;)

Bite me. Not quite the eloquent response you were looking for? Hey, I haven't had my coffee yet. :) And in fact, there were zero ponies and an equal absense of sunshine. It was indeed all doom and gloom right up to the very end, where he gets hired and they choose to abruptly stop the show and roll the credits rather than dwell on anything that wouldn't serve as material for a suicidal grunge rock song. Now where's that coffee... :)

I laughed quite a few times in the movie. Especially the bits with the bone machine and the crazy bum. Coffee helped?
