old news. As I see it: The "design patterns" concentrate on things that are problems in C++, since this is the language most complex projects (that need that level of abstraction and managment) are written in. Anyway, I'm mostly ignorant of design patterns, since they seem to require a high investment before there's any value returned.

What a wonderful game ! May I trademark the words "I", "the" and "it" ? We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children. Antoine de Saint Exupéry (1900-1944)

No, that's not true: they start naturally appearing when you see your staff reinventing the wheel over and over again... Concussus surgo. When struck I rise.

We have also few ones to describe anglo-saxon perfidy ;P ;) ( or how to start a new 100 years' war ) Michael Martin wrote: I think I will throw in Escargo and Frogs Legs for free The funny thing is I never ate one of those I confess it's probably because I don't like that. :) I would much more enjoy with a duck steaklet with potatoes cooked with butter, and some red wine, let's say Fronton, to drink with. [sighist]As a consultant I am always relieved when patterns are used. The usual experience is this: Your'e hired 14 days before deadline, the last developer is long gone and didn't leave his number, the code is bloated and ugly. But if patterns are used, it is so much easier to quickly get an overview of the situation. "It could have been worse, it could have been ME!" -Rincewind
