So are there any third-party alternatives to Microsoft's Expression Blend? ( Preferably something that costs less than $arm+leg. )

According to this blog Inkscape to support XAML Export[^] the OpenSource InkScape project is going to, or does, support export to XAML. I leave it to you, to do more research on the matter; let us know what you dig up (if anything). [Edit] Just came across this as well: XAML Exporter for Blender[^]

Wow! Last time I checked they were going off wildly in all direction on bizarre features and ignoring basic functionality improvements, sounds like things have changed.

Hahaha, you either work for microsoft or havent usent expression blend. I dont want a third party alternative, I just want a product that FREAKING works. We have developed a full blown enterprise app using WPF (probably a bad idea, but thats not the point) and the three developers that I have using blend constantly complain about it crashing and having a very difficult time getting items to layout correctly. Needless to say we have gotten very used to making changes using just the XAML because it is a lot faster. I am hoping that the new version 2 is a miracle worker.
