"As there is a multiplicity of creatures on earth, so there may be other beings, intelligent, created by God. This does not conflict with our faith, because we cannot put limits on the creative freedom of God." obviously god works for a far more flexible company than i.

That tends to be the case for people who are self employed :P

Well if we came across Aliens and they too happen to have a religion where a fello, by the name of Jesus, Muhammad, or another big prophet on Earth was the founder, I think I'd look at that particular religion alot more closely. Until then, I think I'll stay on the side of the guys that didn't claim the universe revloved around Earth.

Well, aren't you stoking the flames a bit? :) Before long, it'll be a fullblown argument on the existence of God.

So the creationist says: Everything must have a designer. God designed everything. I say: Why is God the only exception? Why not make the "designs" (like man) exceptions and make God a creation of man?

:~ If I were looking at it in the light of a conspiracy theory, I might think someone found evidence of extraterrestrial beings and the church is getting the public ready. ;) Area 51 here we come or Area 51 here welcome :) Have fun do not over think a posting  , no trolling here ! :-D

Well, you have to realise that just because people claimed that, doesn't mean the Bible says that. I think people can work as hard at finding proof of things like 'the earth is not flat' in the Bible today, as they just assumed it said what they believed back then. The shape of the earth is not what any religious text is about.

Your right - It's alot more complicated than that. But you know what I mean. Anyway. I think this discussion is more suitable for the Soapbox, so i'm going to participate no more. :).

Well up until the current Pope the Vatican also seemed to support something else. As a non-catholic I am glad I don't have to rely on a bunch of Italians to tell me what it is Ok to believe. (Yes, I know the Holy Sea is its own country and the Pope is not Italian)
