I hate Vista

your setup
On any setup, it does not make good sense to restart the machine without asking the user. I also don't understand how automatic restart after installing updates (obviously alerting the user, but not giving him an option) could be related to hardware or other software.
My Vista pops up a dialogue after Windows updates. It says my computer will be restarting in n seconds, and it has two buttons, "Restart Now", and "Delay Restart". The latter is disabled.

I know almost everyone here hates "Windows Me" but I really didn't! At that time I was not a programmer, just a usual user but very much exited by computers. My computer case was open most of the time and I was doing all sort of investigations into both hardware and software. What I say here, I don't know if was happening just to me. To find out the temperature of my CPU I used my fingers(touching the CPU). CPU was much cooler in Me compared to 98 on the same machine even when the only working thing was the OS. I'm pretty sure it was not a virus in 98, because I knew what a virus is. Also Me was able to boot up much faster. I'm far from Redmond, but I personally think Me was a change in many algorithms inside the OS and was working better than 98, but from a technical point of view might had no no benefits over 98.

So, I am working on my new installer. I touch nothing, I am reading it's help. The program disappears, Vista closes. Actually it closed all programs, told me it was installing three updates, and then started again. I was not online.
Christian Graus Please read this if you don't understand the answer I've given you "also I don't think "TranslateOneToTwoBillion OneHundredAndFortySevenMillion FourHundredAndEightyThreeThousand SixHundredAndFortySeven()" is a very good choice for a function name" - SpacixOne ( offering help to someone who really needed it ) ( spaces added for the benefit of people running at < 1280x1024 )
My Dad gets that - he'll be doing something in Excel or Word and the machine ust shuts down. I've told him it's likely to be automatic updates. Guess I've got a support job on next time I see him...

I'm glad someone did! But honestly, you are the first I've ever heard say positive things about ME.

I've noticed that since I became a member of the CodeProject. Every now and then I see people talking about that. Maybe Windows Me was good for watching movies, playing audio CDs, playing video games, watching digital photos, playing with QBasic and exploring every single file in the windows and system directory. These where what I was doing most of my life. (I was only 15~16)
