Which part of that made me a liberal? As Christian pointed out there is a great hypocrisy for saying one is pro-life but then turn around and kill someone because of their job. It is also hypocritic to kill someone via the death-penalty. That is why I said 'innocent' people. I'm not against the death penalty; but since the Harvard (?) law students are setting people free by use of DNA evidence, we should also use that as a means to give the death penalty. There are many people on death-row that should be there. Perhaps I should have widened my death penalty guidelines to mean 'when there is no doubt that the guilty did it'. Then again, in order to be found guilty it has to be a unanimous decision by the jury anyway so it seems that its just over-doing it. If you couldn't tell I hadn't thought this completely through before; I've only gone as far as justifying it with the law students. Thanks Colin, I think its time to retract that bit. ;) Now if we could get all jails/prisons to implement that Arizona sherrif's jail system of chain gangs and labor work. James "Java is free - and worth every penny." - Christian Graus

James T. Johnson wrote: Perhaps I should have widened my death penalty guidelines to mean 'when there is no doubt that the guilty did it'. IMHO, you've hit the nail on the head there. Even if they didn't actually do it, there's a good chance that they're still guilty. So they may get punished for the *wrong* crime; it'll all come out in the wash eventually...

Maybe it's a good idea to hang everyone that's arrested since the police and the government are good guys and always right!!!

Roger Wright wrote: Have you seen the bright pink underwear Sheriff Arpaiao makes them wear? Thats the best part! :) My mom is a lieutenant at one of the prisons near here. She said at one of the parole hearings a prisoner pleaded not to be set free because he'd just commit another crime to wind up back in prison. Prisoners really have it too easy now. They get 3 meals a day, a warm bed, showers (guarded), and clothing. They also get free education or a minor job, but not to help pay for what they already get, they get money that they can spend in a store for personal items. [serious] Haven't checked the website, but I have seen plenty of bottled fetuses in labs and still-borns being autopsied. Definitions between fertilized-egg - embryo - fetus - baby - person are a load of crap to me. Just meaningless words used by people. As far as I'm concerned if I can't determine the differences, then no one else can. I'm Anti the abortion "industry" similar to what the USA has. Natural abortion occurs for a number of reasons and is a totally separate issue. However there is an interesting correlation between abortion eligibility and lowering crime statistics in the USA. The thing to me is that the issue is so not 'black and white'. Am I against abortion ? Yes. Do I have the right to impose my will on a girl who has been raped ? No. Do I have the right to impose my will on any member of society ? No. I am astounded at the hypocrisy of people in the US who kill abortion doctors. Beyond that, would they rather an unwanted child is raised to know that it was not wanted, and at some point their kids go to school with this (through no fault of their own ) maladjusted individual ? More to the point, they won't BE at school, they will be robbing someone at knifepoint. Christian come on all you MS suckups, defend your sugar-daddy now. - Chris Losinger - 11/07/2002
Christian Graus wrote: I am astounded at the hypocrisy of people in the US who kill abortion doctors. What about the hypocrisy of non-Americans who kill abortion doctors? Does that astound you as well??

Mike Mullikin wrote: What about the hypocrisy of non-Americans who kill abortion doctors? Does that astound you as well?? No, I think killing abortion doctors is justifed anywhere in the world except the US. Next dumb question..... I mentioned the US because I've never heard of it happening elsewhere, but quite obviously the region has nothing to do with it. I would hope even the most stupid person would understand that my comment had nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the fact that certainly my media has reported this happening quite a few times in the US, and never anywhere else. I presume that has something to do with the ease with which people in the US can aquire firearms, which of course is part of how free y'all are over there. (OK, so now I'm baiting you, but your reply to me was just plain dumb ). Christian come on all you MS suckups, defend your sugar-daddy now. - Chris Losinger - 11/07/2002

Daniel Ferguson wrote: Try to keep the Amuricun bashing to a minimum, please -- you might hurt their poor widdle feewings.. Cute. Take an honest, unbiased (if that's possible) look at this thread and the two replies I've made in it before now. The topic is abortion - Right or Wrong. Why did the issue of the US even get brought up? Abortion is an issue that faces the entire world. It is HUGE and mostly unreported in China. The "morning after pill" is used by millions of women in Europe (and Canada I think). Colin's and Christian's comments hardly hurt my feelings, I was simply trying to point out their mistake of singleing(sp?) out the US. Anymore I get the feeling that much of this obsession (by non-Ameican CPians) with the US is just a way for them to villianize us so they can forget about the same problems in their own cultures and nations.
