Why does it not allow me to delete more than 20 contacts at a time? I've been going through my main account cleaning up the contacts and emails and selected a pile of contacts (mailing lists etc) to delete and got a message (unselect some contacts, we can only download 20 contacts at a time).

I doubt it. If it isn't intuitive then we need to fix it. - Chris Maunder

You actually can! Forget the 20Contact delete limit[^]

Ah well doesn't matter, it goes against Google's philosophy of making things simple. I've cleaned them up anyway, I only had a 150 contacts which I've managed to whittle down to 110 contacts.

"it goes against Google's philosophy of making things simple." I thought it should be: it goes with Google's philosophy of making things complicated. :-D

More to the point, why doesn't it have an 'unread mail' view ? Hello ????

But the import process of Google Mail is really more smart than other systems. It is faster and also checks for duplicates seamlessly.

Try searching on 'label:unread'. That will show all unread e-mail.

Hmmm, maybe your "strategy" needs to change. I leave unread emails in the inbox until I've read them once they've been read they're archied away never to be seen again in many cases. If I can't deal with it at a particular point in time I leave it in the inbox until I can. If it's something worth noting for future reference, i.e. I might have to look at it again to save myself the hassle I "star" it.
