    Hey Judah-- Got your message at my blog. I totally agree with you but it makes the hubby happy. He's been hyper-vigilant since we're still scratching our heads. :)

      Gosh, Leppie, I went to Goosh.com and typed in "anything," just like you said. Goosh.com only gave me four hits, regular Google gave me 727,000,000. Neither one gave me a direct link to "everything," which is the least you could expect, and just goes to show you how far we have yet to go to pass a Turing test. I think Goosh is just some trial-balloon mind-control marketing thing; the real thing will probably be named "Guush" and require dna-testing and pre-paid subscription, as well as security-clearance. Meanwhile, I don't think gusher.com and gooser.com are going to sit on their webbed feet while this is going down. I will wait here, studyng the first four hits returned by Goosh for clues, for you to tell me what to type next. thanks, Bill "Half of this game is ninety-percent mental." Yogi Berra

        First I thought it is a joke. I tried a few things - and it works, even works fine. The idea is great!!! Just take a look at the command prompt - if you want to search, you don't need to type the command every time (just type web and after that if you type something it will search automatically). It also adds the mod (command) to the prompt (like DOS prompt adds the name of directory). I don't know is it genuine author's idea or not but it is great.

          like a juvenile 6th grader I did the canonical Unix test by typing in

          $ make love

          Usually what this would produce is something humorous, like

          $ make love
          make: *** No rule to make target `love'. Stop.

          Actually older sometimes would produce a more literal error. Anyhow, much to my surprise that is *NOT* what goosh output. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to see for themselves :)

          How very un-Unix like of it! The real show stopper for me was to see that Boyz II Men were Ushered into 3rd place! I'm thinking this thing must have Easter Eggs - who else? (I tried SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 and found you all over the place!)

            Thanks for the link, but why on earth do people write stuff like Goosh? It's totally pointless and I've seen other shell-type stuff delievered through the web years and years ago!

                    I dunno gang. I'm used to everyone saying "Google it", but I don't know if this new search verb is gonna fly.

                        Read it fast and sloppy as someone would speak it... Like "Jeet jet? No jew?" (Did you eat yet? No, did you?")
