I just noticed that there's now an official Java section - and even a LAMP section as well. WTF?!! So Java is no longer a pariah? This is quite crazy. But hey a good idea, even though it makes me feel so dirty. Fraternizing with the enemy like that.... ;) ;P

I think it's more that Chris, et al, have finally decided that despite the technologies not being Microsoft-owned, they are still very widely used by the very same programmers that also use the Microsoft stuff. All they need to add now is a Flash section. Despite Microsoft's desire to have Silverlight take over that development segment (and no matter how much we all hate Flash), Flash is ubiquitous. I am working on at least two desktop projects right now that interact with Flash. CodeProject should be solely for the programmers, not for the sponsors.

No no, I just didn't notice. When I'm on CP I usually head for the Lounge and/or the article section. Habits you know :)

Very much. I also observed another change little days after the new version of CP got released. The slogan of the website is more 'Visual Studio.NET homepage'. It is now 'Your development resource'. Does it ring some bell of not being tied to Microsoft shackles and rather focussing on solutions to business problems?

Yeah, it's a pretty logical addition to the CP brand. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. So let me give a late welcome to our Java and LAMP brethren :)

It's going to be quite a while before Silverlight replaces Flash (if it ever does).
