Look on the bright side, a pdf reader is unlikely to be related to a nuclear power plant control system ... it could be sooo much worse!

As Mike said, it's completely impossible. Adobe wrote Acrobat in VB, and designed the format such that it cannot be read from any other language.

Yes, if you say so, it is possible that you want to write an app that will read PDF files...

Thanks. I should have realized this after I couldn't find any article on CP. CP is the best programming resource I have used.

Don't listen to these guys, they are all making fun of you. Acrobat Reader is actually written with Microsoft Macro Assembler, that's why it's so fast and has such a small footprint, especially the latest version (8). So, to ensure maximum compatibilty, get yourself a copy of MASM 6.15 (it's free!!) and start programming!

since it is entirely possible, the only thing left is the small matter of typing-in the implementation. what's the big deal ?

                                d) my kid sister, if I had one, would be bored by the true answer, therefore it cannot be printed in the lounge. Kid sisters rarely go to the C++ forum, making the C++ forum a good place to ask boring C++ questions.... e) If any of us answer a C++ question in the lounge, Trollslayer would test out a double bladed axe on us.... If she weren't so nice about it, I would think that would qualify her as an honorary kid-sister from my family. ;)

now if she had spent time for trying to kill someone else, then she'd fit in my family. :) My great-grandfather tried to kill a tax collector, my brother still defends the right to kill me even as an adult. now if she had spent time for trying to kill someone else, then she'd fit in my family. :) My great-grandfather tried to kill a tax collector, my brother still defends the right to kill me even as an adult. My aunt has been in and out of mental facilities for years. My mother, she just repeats our family is normal and why don't I obey my brother?

Sounds like both our families are messed up. I don't think there are any winners here. :(
