Has anyone tried executing a MFC application in "Windows Based POS Systems", how is the experience, actually I have heard that MFC based application can be executed in "Windows Based POS Systems". I am going to make a MFC based application for "Windows Based POS Systems" but don't have any resource for testing that. How do you think about that?

    Thanks, Mushq

Do you mean a “POS terminals embedded system”?

I know nothing about these "Windows Based POS Systems" that you speak of...but, I wouldn't consider building an app for a system that I have no way of testing.

Actually the testing is extremely easy. You just need to rewrite all of the C++ libraries, converters, crypto functions, drivers etc. coming with the terminal, for Windows environment and Voala! Now you can test your code under Windows. It easy like that – believe me, I know. :sigh:

POS is right down the hall from me... i know our old application (which runs on Windows PE on NCR and the old IBM registers) had MFC components. Is there a reason you're using MFC? the newer registers are more then capable of utilizing .net

Why are you quoting around "Windows Based POS Systems"? That's "pointless".

Yeah, MFC apps run on these PoS Windows systems. Most of 'em are PoS themselves. Written by PoS coders and maintained by PoS consultants. Sometimes, users will call in and ask why the PoS crashed on 'em again; i just tell 'em, "we all know it's a PoS, running on PoS hardward and held together primarily by PoS - what did you expect?"

I am appalled that it took you guys over an hour and several posts to get to the obvious punch-line response to this post. (I was busy at the time, so I'm excused)
