What would you build where WTC once stood? http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2002/wtc.ideas/[^] Personally out of shown proposals I like no 4. No 17 is good as well, but looks too complex to actually built. IMHO anything that doesn't rise up at least 110 stories is an insult...
I like 17.. I think it would be possible... have a look at http://www.geocities.com/PicketFence/5192/centre_of_india.html[^] and http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/eti/projects/towermain.html[^] looks absolutely amazing :-)

But where are the parks open to the sky? Are all the sports fields indoors only? And where is the beach with the hot sun and awesome waves, man? I think we have already proved we can build tall buildings. Now we should start proving we can build beautiful cities with a good "feel" to them. Although I did watch a documentary on that building and the said that by building it on the island in the bay it allowed them to creats parks etc... I live ina beautiful city called Waterford[^]. It's a small city [population of about 45,000] but it is amazingly beautiful... sometimes I forget about it and then all of a sudden I realise how lucky I am to be living there... and then I go walking around, appreciating how beautiful nature is and how, in some places, we have managed to make our cities beautiful as well.

I still like the idea someone had shortly after 9/11: Build three towers, where the middle tower is longer than the others, giving the terrorists the birdie. FreeBSD is sexy. Getting closer and closer to actually submit an article...

I like 14, very Sharp and has a statement. as to your choice of 17, the bridges would be technically challenging, but then thats what engineers are paid for solving. Regardz Colin J Davies
