Is it to do with distribution? Radiators distribute heat, Pennies (currency) are distributed / circulated Campanology is about harmonies of different bells (?) A mezzanine floor is half way between floors Alphabet is distributed over words / language? Ok, a couple of those might be just a little bit tenuous!!!

I'd have to look them up - but I lived in Italy for years as child and have eaten most shapes in my time! Penny I guess = penne Radiatori ? seem to rmember rings a (campanologist!) bell...
