Will I ever be able to live this down, you pelican plumbing female dog... Actually - and don't laugh at me - I did install DW on it before the power connector started getting loose, and after I got it working again this evening... well the DW icon was much nicer than the MS Word one - hoest guv! :-O

I have a really old laptop (an Acer Extensa 501T from '96) with all of 32 MB of RAM. I'd like to buy some more RAM for it so I can stick Windows XP Home on it and give it to my mum to run Microsoft Money on. The problem is I can't find any information anywhere as to what I need to buy! :(( Any ideas? On another note I spent five hours today taking it to pieces to re-solder the power connect to the motherboard, and I have to say that for something so damned small I am surprised they managed to fit all that in there - there was a moment when I thought I wasn't going to get it all back! It works now though, which is good, though I do have this one machine screw left over... :suss:

I don't have any ideas for you David, but I thought I should take this opportunity to show how crap my soldering skills are; Pic 1 | Pic 2 As it transpires, it just shows how crap my novelty digital camera is. Watch it  I never made any comments about your Dreamweaver posts earlier, I only noticed that others did. You shouldn't try pigeonholing someone who never made an unjust comment about Dreamweaver or your posts before. :) Good luck finding your memory though. Nick Parker

Yeah, finding out those crappy little spy cams don't come with the half-naked woman displayed along side in the ads is really a let-down, isn't it... ;)

Hey thanks for the link Alisdair! From their UK site I can buy 128 MB for £30 with no shipping costs - not bad considering it is so old. They also have a heck of a lot of info on memory there - I am still reading!
