I've said it before many times, but I like all my music (~8GB), used to just let it shuffle, but I'm liking Apple's latest offering of the "Genius" playlist.

It's very disturbing if I listen to mine on shuffle. It's 20GB, and I've got everything from the Carpenters and Bee Gees to NIN, Tool, Metallica, etc. and everything in between (reggae, Dead Can Dance, jazz, opera). I tried shuffle/random once as an experiment...Not good. :) Scott

My current stack of CD's includes: Stay With Me, Michael Lington Rebound, Wayman Tisdale Bringing Back the Funk, Brian Culbertson Tequila Moon, Jessy J Greatest Hits!, Walter Beasley Face to Face, Wayman Tisdale Roundtrip, Kirk Whalum New Beginnings, Gerald Albright Just Getting Started, Eric Darius Truth, Warren Hill Rising Sun, Najee Soul Lounge and Royal Function, Bona Fide Pacific Coast Highway, Nils Yes, I listen to smooth jazz. No, I don't care that it isn't cool. I'm middle-aged, which means I've learned to listen to what I like, rather than worry about what somebody else thinks is hip.

Erm, if I were more creative, I'd do a parody of the lyrics and they'd be all about documenting code and stuff. "Time's on my side, I've got it all. My methods are well documented, blah, blah, blah, blah." :rolleyes: Personally, I don't listen to music while programming; I just wind up tuning it out. Like Phannon said, the Genius mode in iTunes 8 is growing on me too. I've got >100G :-O and always did the shuffle bit but like you said, with that many tunes you end up swinging from metal to lounge. When it hits something you like, you hit the Genius button and you get a quick playlist of similar songs. So far it has picked pretty decent lists.

I can't no one said metal! Mostly just old Maiden and 'Tallica songs though, with a little Priest and Motorhead in there as well.
