Ryder Cup posts have as much contextual value here as Cricket posts - none.

I'll respond :) If there was ever someone who was going to bugger up Europe's chances of retaining the Ryder cup it was Faldo, who duly obliged. It's only on loan though so let the colonials enjoy it while they can.

I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

Since when is "contextual value" (whatever that is) a requirement for posting in the lounge?

It always has been, but I think there's only three or four of us here that are aware of it.

But posting about stupid movies here does have some value ?? I usually just ignore posts that have no value to ME, but I don't pretend to think I'm the one who sets the standard for whats contextually valuable or not. Lots of European and US people here might have had some small interest in what happened this weekend, and lots of others could care less. Maybe you were just abused as a child with a golf club by daddy or something. Next time I'll try to post something about Barbie Dolls...I hear that's one of your great interests Johnny.
