[^] Back in 1992, my father was chairman of the board of a network products company that had built a better browser (one with all the disparate tools required for both WWW and older protocols built right into the menu system) and were just releasing it when Microsoft announced Internet Explorer and announced that (as opposed to $10 Netscape and my father's $39.95 product) IE would be free for anyone who downloaded it. This cost my father millions in development costs and potential millions in profits. What goes around, comes around :))
