Primarily, books to learn, internet (or online, at least - I count PDF/HTML on a PC as closer to internet than book) for reference.
I use both books and the Internet. I use books to learn the basics and the Internet to find real life examples or detail how-to's. I also like using the Internet for quick reference look-ups
