2 Minutes silence
-
A person who was on our side of the office walks back in from the other side after the 2 minute silence and says Employee 1 "They are all doing the 2 minutes silence over there" Our side answered "so were we" Employee 2 "Oh I just thought it was business as usual"

Its not the things you fear that come to get you but all the things that you don't expect
Thank you. I displayed it in the hope someone would help me address it. You also did really well.

Probably he isn't old enough, just like me. I had to Google to find out what it was.

Just because it's obvious for you doesn't mean it is for everyone else. I also had to look it up. But then I'm not British either.

The younger, the better you should know. High school history knowledge should be fresher, if it ever existed.

There was this little thing called WWI (AKA the Great War). A few people died, and it turns out there have been a few wars since then where a few more people died. Soldiers past and present, along with the common folks of the counties that are still here because of them, like to remember those soldiers who have died at 11.11am on 11/11 each (and every) year. I'll re-itterate what somebody said previously; you might like to open a history book once in a while and find out what has been given in the past for you to live mostly free and without persecution in your warm, presumably comfy, home. edit: Dude, you were in the SA Air Force and you dont know about this? Thats a frickin discrace.

Given that the Armistice was signed in France and was between the Germans and the Allies (not just Britain), I fail to see the relevancy of your comment. And that's before I even start on the notion of 'neutrality' (which is probably more for the soapbox anyway).
It definitely isn't definatley

FWIW, it's 11:00 on 11/11 - the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. No mention of 11th minute.

History wasn't the most interesting thing for me.

If it ever existed? What? Knowledge? For programming, I've proven enough, far more, to be a professional. For history, I said to you what it was.
