All is not well V (or is it IV?)

Hi. Back from the hospital for the time being. They performed a stereotactical biopsy of my thalamus, and they were not pleased with the results. I have a grade III tumor right squat in the middle. They removed a tiny, tiny bit (a few hundred cells they said), just enough to get an idea of what is going on in there. Well, from what they've gathered, I felt pretty compelled to read the Gould article (thanks to - Bill was it, I think), and I am pretty optimistic now. No, I am probably not gonna be alright forever, but I've met people who have been living with a grade III tumor for 12 years now. I will start chemotherapy and radiation treatments in the next weeks. I just wanted to let you know: I appreciate all the positive feedback you guys have given me. I am not gonna give up. As a matter of fact, I've turned into a big-time optimist over the last weeks, and boy, is that a good feeling. I'll post here from time to time. If you do speak German, I have a blog at lebfuerdentag.blogspot.com .

Wow Sebastian... Let's be positive and think that everything will be OK, as far as I've seen the other people here have sent you nice comfortable thoughts... I can't add anything else than I wish you the best luck. Never, never give up... Get the warmest wishes from all the CPian community.

Good because although optimism may not always save you, pessimism is known to prevent healing/recovery/wellness. I almost let a simple bacteria infection kill me through pessimism. I don't know what my wife's tumor looks like or is. She will not let anyone see her MRI's but herself. I take her for 6 month checkups and scans and she tells me it is still the same. I don't know if she will tell me if that changes or not, hopefully so. But she has been living with it that she knows of for nearly 20 years, probably much longer unknown. Having a child caused an unpredicted growth that was removed, but I think you are safe from that specific problem. ;) Keep laughing & smiling, it really is good medicine too.
